Annual General Meeting

Clubs Not Present: Byron-Bergen, Chili, Churchville, Gates, International, Livingston, Rochester Jr, Rhinos, Rush Henrietta

Meeting Called to Order: 7:07 P.M.

  1. Announcements - None
  2. New York State West – Roger Best
    1. Annual General Meeting – November 18 at ESL at MCC cost $10 – Sunday 10 A.M.
      1. $50 fine if do not send delegate or designate proxy
      2. Risk Management speaker
      3. Awards Dinner – Saturday P.M. - $25
    2. New Travel and Tournament Manual
      1. Canadian and Mexican teams will now be considered foreign teams if new rules pass
      2. Must have USYSA approval and $25 fee
    3. Computerized Registration
      1. Must have disk from each Club
      2. No paperwork will be processed without disk.
    4. Risk Management
      1. Any volunteer for a Club must fill out form – coaches, assistants, trainers, managers
      2. Larry Evarts talked to Gary Aker and forms will be kept in locked file
      3. Forms do not have to have SS#
      4. Spot Checks will be done
      5. No coaches’ pass will be issued until the form is filed
      6. Gary Aker will be at the Annual General Meeting to answer questions about Risk Management
  3. Summary of RAYSL – Neil Fisher
    1. Fines have not gone out yet – average fine $188 per Club – total about $5700
    2. Canandaigua and Brighton had no fines
    3. Poor spectator behavior – violence is going to occur if spectators are not kept under control
    4. RDYSL will allow Clubs to enter as many teams as they want as long as they have fields on which to have the teams play
    5. Clubs can enter teams of both genders.
    6. Thank you to Club presidents for peaceful resolution of disciplinary matters.

  9. Club Information Forms – Ken
    1. Need information forms from Rush Henrietta, Livingston, International, Hilton, Greece Eclipse, Gates, Fairport.
  10. Referees and Referee Forms – Rick Frisicano
    1. Referee unit has agreed to continue with the existing contract for the next 2 years
    2. Increase in fees: U10 - $22; U12 - $23; U14 - $27; U16 - $36; U19 - $45
    3. Referee registration going on now
      1. Possibly referee shortage in 2001 season
      2. Losing young referees because of spectator behavior
      3. Possible double headers to alleviate need for referees
      4. Bring referee representative to RDYSL meeting in future.
      5. Information on the Website for referee training
  11. Game Nights are the same for the 2001 season.
  12. Fees - Lou
    1. Bonds – Clubs presently pay $400 for RAYSL and $300 for MCGSL – next year the bonds will be $500 for Clubs with both boys and girls teams and $250 for clubs with only one gender
    2. All bonds will be returned this year
    3. Existing Clubs will not pay a team fee and only $1 per player for registration
    4. New Clubs will pay a fee of $20 per team and $2.50 per player for registration.
  13. League Cup - Mark
    1. Survey – 35 votes in favor and 1 vote against
    2. RDYSL will look into the possibility for this season – Ken has volunteered to coordinate this
  14. Packet - Ken
    1. Estimate of cost savings per Club
    2. Unofficial By-Laws for RDYSL – there will be minor technical changes – when final By-Laws will be posted on the RDYSL Website
    3. Included a Plan of Merger
    4. Delegate list must be returned to Ken by Sunday, November 19 – if this is not returned – The club will not be able to vote
    5. Only the two (2) delegates per team listed can vote – delegates can be the same people for each team
    6. Two (2) forms – 1 for MCGSL and 1 for RDYSL – filled out to reflect last year’s teams
    7. MCGSL and RAYSL boards have voted and now teams must vote
    8. Notice will be sent to each delegate ten (10) days before the meeting for the final vote
    9. Proxies are available
    10. Delegates are for teams – Clubs do not vote – team delegates vote
